This is not a hearing on a particular bill, but instead is the public conversation that should’ve occurred BEFORE adoption of the Common Core standards and reforms.

Many parents and teachers will be attending and ready to testify. Please sign in to deliver your 2-3 minute personal story of how Common Core and the associated high-stakes testing is affecting your children and family. Student testimonies welcome!

  1. Please eliminate Common Core from our schools. It is not intended to educate our children. It is designed to create a generation of brain washed socialists and to gather way more information than they are entitled to about the students and parents. It needs to be stopped now. Our kids need to graduate from high school with a good base in good old fashioned reading, writing and arithmetic, not re-written text books which change history to suit the socialist agenda and convoluted math methods. They need to be taught how our constitution and government came to be and how it works and made aware of what is really happening in the world. The USA used to be at the top in the world in education and I am now astounded at the low educations level of most of our young people. Drop the Common Core idea and go back to basic education.

    • I agree that the USA used to be at the top of education food chain. At the same time, we have been using that same “old fashioned” teaching strategies for years and that is why we have dropped. Something needs to be fixed. The common core may not be the answer, but going back to the basic education was not working either.
