The Task is Set and Needs to be Carried Out

Washington State adopted the Common Core State Standards and pushes forward to have them implemented next year.  This video is a great depiction of many of the decisions involved including decisions made by the state legislature, the superintendent of public instruction, and other state officials.  It includes local school administrators and their school boards as well—largely because they were told the task is set and needs to be carried out.

Even as it becomes apparent a bad decision has been made that is no reason to stop or change course.  The experts assigned to the task will continue to put square pegs in round holes.
