David Coleman is referred to as the architect of the Common Core. There are many videos available featuring him giving presentations. This brief video has clips of Coleman making some revealing statements. At one point he indicates he was involved in convincing governors to adopt the standards. He also gives a little insight into the writing of the standards. Pathetic beginnings? Napkin? Does this support the notion that this was a state-led effort? It sounds like it was state-led in the sense that the states were led.
