Special Ed PTSA meeting in Seattle 5/15 to announce changes to accommodations next year under common core

Seattle: The Special Ed PTSA, public meeting will be May 15, 2013 at 7:00 pm at John Stafford building in Seattle.

They will introduce the new head of SpEd in Seattle as well as inform the public of the changes to IEP/504 accommodations coming next year with the new Common Core implementation.

I just got the prerecorded call from the school district tonight announcing this so if you are in a different city please look into similar meetings in your area. Even if you homeschool, still receive accommodations or support please try be there and stay informed.

About Shorte Luv

I am a single mother, homeschool teacher, an unoficial advocate for ADHD kids in public school, and I have recently become actively involved in the mess that the schools have adopted, the "new" Common Core State Standards and all of the ugliness surrounding them. My son is 14 years old, and has been through way more in public school than any kid should and yes it nearly destroyed him. He has "ADHD" and Dysgraphia/Dyslexia. Homeschooling has turned him around completely and has changed our lives for better.
